ebXML is a suite of
specifications that enables enterprises of any size, in any
industry, and in any geographical location to conduct business over
the Internet. Using ebXML, companies now have a standard method to
exchange business messages, conduct trading relationships,
communicate data in common terms and define and register business
processes.
ebXML makes it easier for companies to
engage in new and innovative collaborative relationships, to provide
better service for customers and improve the way business is
done. Since their publication in May 2001, work has begun
worldwide on implementing the first ebXML specifications. Examples
